Ancillary GRO-prenticeship Program

What is it?

The cannabis industry is bringing with it an explosion of opportunity to Illinois. During the pandemic, cannabis was considered an ‘essential’ business, which meant no slowdown. Soon more business licenses will be announced, which could spell opportunity for you.

Ancillary businesses, who don’t necessarily ‘touch the plant’ but provide essential products and services to businesses and consumers, are benefitting immensely. Take, for example, a packaging company, a security company or a producer of rolling paper. All directly support either the plant-touching companies or the customer base.

Do you have relevant experience or have you studied a field that provides services or goods to cannabis businesses but you don’t know how to break in? Have you wanted to be in the cannabis industry but your skills are more suited to serving the industry rather than touching the plant directly?
